Seems like a cool device if you have to pay for your water. I don’t know how a water utility is going to think of this as it’s an add on and they may think it affects results.

I’d definitely recommend people check with the utility before installing one because it straps to the meter which in my area is the property of the utility and not the homeowner. Many municipalities will get upset if anyone but their own employees or a licensed plumber does anything inside the meter pit without letting them know first.

It shouldn’t interfere with the ability for them to read smart meters remotely due to the signal that it uses. I’d imagine that would be the primary concern they would have about it.
